Slow to establish, forms rhizomes and deep rooted, good tolerance to wear
Used in most Sport areas and on banks


Browntop Bent
Fine leaved, producing above ground stolens as well as rhizomes
Excellent on close mowing
Quick recovery from wear
Used in most Non-ryegrass mixtures eg bowling greens & ornamental lawns


Hard Fescue
Very drought resistant and slow-growing
Good in infertile, acid or salty soils
Do not cut too short
Incorporated in landscape mixtures.
